I'm having surgery with Dr. Heider November 6th. I'm on a 4 week pre op diet now. So far I must say Dr. Heider is top notch!

OMG you must be so excited!  It's between him and one other doctor...but my intuition is saying go with him. He wrote to me and said so I wouldn't have to fly down several times he would try and consolidate all the visits as much as possible. I took the day off from work tomorrow to try and make some calls (no privacy at work) and finalize my decision. Any questions you can think of that I should be sure and ask or any you wished you had asked?  Thanks,Elizabeth

Dr. Heider is super good at answering questions.  When I first met him my mind was pretty made up on having the surgery with him. I did neglect to ask how long it was before driving and what size bougie he uses to make the sleeve. I did find out he really invests a lot of time to ensure the staple line is reinforced and is leak free. He took extra time to make sure my wife had all of her questions answered and let us know what to expect.  They are real good about minimizing the number of appointments and most of them can be done via telephone.  Good luck in your journey. Met my surgeon in July, I had a nutrition consult, an EKG--which led to a stress test, sleep study, blood work, preop physical, and two endoscopes, since they found ulcers.

Surgery is this Thursday.  No preop diet of any kind.
