1 Month update and NSV'S (one TMI)

I was sleeved Feb 5th and I have passed the first month and all the food stages with flying colours. I am eating many different types of foods, though mostly still opting for softer things or I chew the heck out of it. I have trouble getting all my water in, so I know that's something I still need figure out, but I almost always get around 60g of protein and under 20g carbs.

I have lost 24lbs since surgery, and with the 28lbs that I lost from the preop liquid diet (started Jan 6th), I have a total of 52lbs lost in 2 months. I had originally thought I would lose more right after surgery, but since I weigh each day, it truly feels slow, but after a while all those 0.2lbs add up !

I have lost 50lbs a few times in the past, but always at this point I lose momentum and start gaining it all back, plus extra weight. It is going to be a new experience to keep going until I'm done.

I am starting to get the comments that I'm "looking good", which I know is code for, "have you lost weight", but it still feels good that it's starting show. People are particularly mentioning how much my face has changed, which is nice, since that's the one body part that I can't hide.

I am also about to do a huge closet overhaul, since I had only kept ready access to my original size and the one down (22 and 20), but those are getting too big. In storage I have every size of clothing, going back to my high school years (I'm 33), and I'm not sure how much of it is still in style, but hoping for at least some basic jeans and shirts to tie my over as I lose.

The funniest NSV I've had so far is a bit embarrassing (and TMI), but was too good to not share. I was having my first bath in my Jacuzzi tub that I love, after my scars had healed, and I decided to shave... down there. After a few minutes, I realized that I wasn't just shaving by feel! I mean, I was able to bend all the way over and see everything. It was the closest shave I've had in years.

Cheers

Great progress!

I'm the same way with clothes. I have to go through and re-evaluate my readily available and get rid of my too big clothes. I have clothes going back to high school, too, and frankly, I don't care whether they're in style or not. They'll cover my butt until they don't fit anymore, and I have no reason to buy new clothes until they don't. It will be a win to get back in them, and it will be a huge win to shrink out of them.

I think I could have written this post!!! Minus the NSV bit... my gosh that is funny! Kudos to you though! What a great NSV!

Like you, it'd usually be around the 35 or 40 lb mark that I would lose momentum and my body would start holding on to each and every ounce of fat. I've lost 50 lbs since starting my liquid diet in mid-January, and like you, I'm starting to get the "You look good!" comments (and on one occasion, "You look younger!"). That's nice isn't it?!

However, unlike you I've been at this weight most of my life. I cannot recall being less than 260 lbs. EVER. My husband has never seen me at my current weight and we've been together 14 years. So I have no clothes in my closet to go 'back' to! That part is tough. I think second-hand stores are about to be my best friend, because my 22 and 20 pants no longer work! They're sliding down my hips with every step and I'm holding onto them for dear life! Regardless of what's in style, I'm sure you can get away with most of the items in your closet as you transition downwards. I hope you discover some long forgotten favourite pieces! Enjoy it!

I was looking at your stats and they're almost identical to mine. :)  Well, except you're now 4lbs lighter than me!  Congratulations!  My surgery was Feb. 4.  Our HW was the same and our SW was the same.  It just made me smile.
