I'm not sure exactly what you mean, it's been a long day lol, but if you mean when I want the surgery I have to do the 6 months pre op for my insurance so I will have to wait close to 7 months before it will probably happen. That's if all my pre op testing is normal enough to have surgery. After that I have no timeline for how I want to lose weight. As long as I lose I'm happy.
Welcome back! You're going to love this board & It's very active. Congratulations on your decision to move forward with the VSG. You'll never regret it.

Losing weight is hard, keeping it off is infinitely harder. Surgery can help with both. I believe that everything happens for a reason and that you were not ready five years ago.
My advise would be to grasp onto surgery like a life preserver. Do everything to stick to your plan. Remember how easy it is to regain and always keep the attitude that you are going to be a long term success and inspiration to others.
I backed out of a RNY years ago. I guess I wasn't ready. Also, I was having a hard time with insurance requirements.
The way I look at it, it wasn't the right time. Now I have the VSG. A less "drastic" surgery with fewer serious complications which seems to net similar results, weight loss wise, in the long run, as RNY. I'm at the beginning of my journey and hope all goes well, but I'm feeling great so far.
