Going camping....need help with meal ideas
Ive been feeling physically pretty decent lately. ive gotten back on track for now. So, I am heading out to the beach to go camping (in this cold, fml). We are going to do some light hiking and kayaking so we will be pretty active. But the whole food thing is stressing me since ive been doing so well, i dont want to lose my momentum. Im eating all clean food right now and no grains/oats/flour/sugar, etc. I will have a propane grill so i guess the possibilities are endless. I saw camping ideas to make foil wrapped meals - sounded like a good idea to be able to prepare/portion the food and easy to store.
So, what kind of meat and veggie ideas do you have?

You survived what you thought would kill you. Now straighten your crown and go forward like the Queen you are!
Glad you're feeling better! You're a better person than me. Camping has never appealed. If the day doesn't end in a hotel with hot/cold running water, I'm not interested.
On food, kabobs jump to mind. Whatever chunks of meat you like along with whatever veggies you like. Nothing like eating off of a stick.
Romaine hearts....... in a cooler......
Put any protein in a romaine spear and it's good eats !!!
Have pre marinated meats in freezer bags.
Pre cooked type chicken sausage..... good for breakfast lunch or dinner....
Asian stir fry are great camping meals....
You could do my Chicken Satay with peanut sauce.
Have fun.... glad your feeling better !!!

I camp a lot! I make many meals in tin foil. Just cut up your veggies and season well. I like to make asparagus, green and yellow zucchini, mushrooms, onions, etc.... I brush with a touch of olive oil or spray with Pam and season well. You can either throw them in with your meat in same tin foil package or separate depending on how long the meat will take to cook. A hamburger or turkey burger will cook relatively fast so if you put the veggies in with it the flavor from the meat is awesome. Cornish hens are very easy on the grill and only take about an hour or so. Lay the fish on top of your veggies in the tinfoil packet and open up the last five minutes to let it carmelize or brown. Possibilities are endless! Have fun!
Not sure if you are a seafood eater but a piece of fish with herbs is always delicious in an aluminum packet! And it cooks very quickly!
