Good for you, getting back on track. It became noticeably easier for me to climb stairs after just 30 lbs.
I don't know if it helps RA, but I have severe osteoarthritis and have found Cymbalta to be a great help with the chronic pain and the depression and fatigue that go with it. It has made a huge improvement in my ability to work and my quality of life. Please ask your doctor if it might help you.
With all best wishes.
So sorry to hear about the RA diagnosis.... I am sending hugs to you allllll the way from PA!! I am SO hoping that you are able to get all of the care that you need with the new insurance. You are such a fighter and amazing person!!! So good to hear from you!! Your perseverance continues to inspire me every day!!

Well that just sucks. RA is a drag to live with. I have several friends who battle with it, including a young mom who is only 26. But, even though you will need to make some adjustments, you still can have a good life. Even though there is not likely to be a triathlon or marathon in the future, it doesn't mean you can't be an athlete. You will just need to do smaller stuff, after they get your meds correct of course. A couple of my friends who have RA do water sports, it is easier on the joints.
Anyway, I miss you. Haven't seen you in a while. When you are up to it, we need to plan a SoCal meet up.
"The next time you want to grab some cookies, or cake, or chocolate delights....think about your body. Its more than just WL and counting calories and carbs. Don't lose sight of the big picture - we all have a lot of life to live...and we need strong healthy bodies to live life to the fullest. "
Thanks for the reminder - I hope you find the right doctors and medications to control your health!! Life is full of curveballs...
I have no experience w/ all that you have been going thru but I just wanted to let you know (probably for the 100th time since I've been on this forum) that you are such a strong, brave and inspirational woman to so many of us. I hope all of your issues get better or at least settle down in the coming new year. Sending you positive thoughts and cyber hugs!
Hi Alison,
I keep watching the posts to see how you are doing and was glad to see an update. Although getting a diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis is lousy, you now know what is going on with your health and hopefully they can find an answer to your pain and a treatment that can help you live a bit easier. Keep strong and move along in your journey to a healthier body.
Enjoy the holiday season, Take care,
Vera
