I'm in the final days of my pre op liquid diet and I'm already suffering with trapped gas and constipation. I'm not sure if it's because of the type of protein I'm using (Muscle Milk RTD). I decided to change to GNC Total Lean 25 (lactose free) but still having gas.. Help am I alone in this???

I'm around the same stage as you (my surgery is on Wed)  I have had some constipation (normally I take care of business in the morning, but I'm only able to do so every couple days).  I have not had a gas issue.  I am allowed one pre-packaged low calorie meal, though.

Lots of protein,in any form ,is constipation. It is probably not the muscle milk, just protein in general.

I suggest getting some generic Miralax and adding to you shake once a day in the evening. It is gentle and safe to use weary day. I would suggest Gas ex to help break up the trapped gas.

This will likely be a problem for you post op also,as it is for many of us. Getting on a bowel program now will help you then.
