Hey Rose,

I am eight days post-op and it DOES get better! I will be honest I was in the SAME BOAT as you. Most of what you are experiencing right now is the swelling and trauma from the surgery itself. Just look forward to next week because it WILL. Just make sure you walk walk walk!

Best Wishes,

Jaron

You may need an anti acid or anti nausea med.

As others have said, YES it gets better. I, too, looked in the mirror a few days post op and said, "what have I done?" It gets easier. Promise.

Just an aside, it sounds like you're an air swallower. If every swallow results in a burp, you're swallowing air. I had to retrain myself after surgery because I was doing the same thing.

Good luck, hon. And welcome to the Losers' Bench!

For me, day five was the magic day.  After the fifth day I started feeling better each day.  Hang in there, this too shall pass.  A month from now you will forget about all those regrets and feel great with the changes in you.  God Bless and keep on keeping on.

Hi, so sorry you're in a bad spot right now. I am 2 weeks and a day post-op, and feel normal. I remember waking up on day 8 and feeling good - that was my turn around day. Hang in there, it will improve dramatically before you know it.

You are feeling the exact same way I was word for word.... it does for sure get better. I was about 7 days post op when I was starting to feel great, saw I had some energy. I am almost one month post op and still having some issues with getting fluids and all my protein but you focus on walking , walking , walking It is so true what they say about walking makes it better. I so know you are hurting im guess not sleeping either. Sip all day and walk as much as you can. We are all here for you us newbie to the loser bench and the vets on this site are the best .... never get judged and we all KNOW what your feeling and can help you get to that next day. Welcome to the bench. The surgery is the hardest part and that is over and you did great. Take one step, ond day, one sip, one pound lost at a time .

For me day 2 was the worst, even worse than the day of surgery. I traveled home (about a 7 hour drive) on day 3 and still didn't feel as bad as I did on day 2. Every day after that I felt a little bit better. Hang in there...
