Resting Metabolic Rate test
I did it in the middle of the supervised diet (breathing into the tube) and it turned out to be 2,989 calories... which for my weight at the time and the rate I was losing on a 1,500-1,600 calorie per day diet it seems like it was probably reasonable! It's crazy to think that I can't imagine eating 1600 calories now, let alone 3,000+! Then again, I'm only 5 months out lol

Yep...it was the tube thing. My results:
REE (Resting Energy Expenditure) 1,656
Life Expenditure of Calories (basic activity) 495
So...according to this, if I get up, go to work, basic household stuff, I could maintain at 182 by eating 2,151 calories. (don't want to, but could)
Lets imagine for one crazy moment that is true.
2,151 x 7 = 15,057 calories needed per week
850 x 7 = 5,950 average number of calories I am ingesting per week
weekly calorie deficit = 9107 or 2.6 lbs per week expected loss.
My average weekly loss has been 4.25 thanks the big first week and exercising (high intensity kick boxing) nearly daily.
Hmm, maybe it is accurate after all. I look forward to doing it again at goal to test out the science.
