No wonder you hadn't come back yet. I'm so sorry that you're having to endure this.  Praying that your pain eases.  Candy, you have a damn good attitude for someone who is treading through this situation.

I'm trying to stay positive. Rightnow I'm in bed fight tears waiting on precoset to do something. Anything.

I'm not suicidal but it does give me a deeper understanding why people with chronic pain do it.

I've Never ever ever felt this way. Is total misery.

Sorry to hear about the pain.  Will be praying you get relief soon.  Sometimes drugs do not even touch pressure pain and with retaining that much fluid, I am guessing it is applying pressure somewhere and it is not letting up, even with the drugs.  Trusting that it goes away soon as the extra water weight decreases and swelling goes down.  Yikes, I remember having a compressed vertebrae in high school, did it on a trampoline, and it was the worst pain in my life, but probably no where near what you are feeling.

Get better quick!

“Not many of us are living at our best.  We linger in the lowlands because we are afraid to climb the mountains.  The steepness and ruggedness dismay us, and so we stay in the misty valleys and do not learn the mystery of the hills.  We do not know what we lose in our self indulgence.  What glory awaits us if only we had the courage for the mountain climb.  What blessing we should find if only we would move to the uplands of God.?  JRM

Yeah I'm at 168 this morning so the water is definitely going down. My pants aren't so tight. I'm living in short dresses and Danskin cotton workout shorts. Makes it easy to get dressed and have others help me.

I totally understand your pain. I never had surgery on my back but I was injured in a horseback riding freak accident. My horse bolted when she saw a snake and my foot was caught in the stirrup and she jumped a barb wire fence and i ended up going through the fence and having it wrap around my back. I pray that your pain will ease up or that they will give you something that does the trick, no one should have to go through that amount of pain. I am sending prayers for a speedy and pain free recovery. Take care.

You survived what you thought would kill you. Now straighten your crown and go forward like the Queen you are!

18 months ago I had 3 level fusion (L2-5).  After 10-hours of surgery, my expected 2-day hospital stay turned into 6 days.  Those first weeks were rough, and reading your post,  I can feel it again.  I am praying for you.

Feel better soon,

Jib

I'm so so sorry to hear that. :(

Speak up for yourself as much as you can. It's known (albeit not well) that genetics determines morphine response and some folks simply need ****tons of opioids to get any effect. and you may do better with NSAIDs or adding in some NSAIDs for additional relief.

Do you remember if you had pain meds postVSG? and if so, what they were?

Wow.  So very scary and I'm praying you feel relief soon.  I'm currently having issues with L4-5-S1 as well and have been in therapy for 2 weeks.  I really hope your pain eases and you can rest at least.
