I'm so sorry that you're having such an awful time right now. I have no wisdom, just uber gentle hugs and prayers.

I have been thinking of you and hoping for the best.  I am sorry to hear that your pain is still out of control...I hope your doctors are able to do something to provide you some relief soon.  *hugs*

Oh, Sweetie, I'm so sorry.  That sucks!  Be tough- don't let them push you around.  You simply must have pain control.  Have they sent your case to a pain specialist yet?

Gentle Hugs,

Kim

Oh my!  That's not good.  I can only relate on the level that I see my husband dealing with the back problems at L4 and L5.  They won't do anything for him...he's too young HA!  He's in pain all the time and it's hard to watch him go through that.

On the other hand, what I admire is that you are your best advocate.  Way to stand your ground and get a plan before leaving unprepared!  Hope you feel better soon!

Yikes, you poor thing. Nothing is worse than badly managed pain...I can sympathize (but cannot imagine how much you're in).

Hold your ground! Glad you've got yourself as advocate!

I am so sorry you're in so much pain. Hopefully you can get it under better control soon, although I do wonder about the pain pills they have you on.  I also suffer from chronic back pain, although I haven't had to had spinal surgery, and one thing I noticed in your post is they're giving you a lot of meds to mask the pain, but nothing to deal with the cause.  They should be giving you an NSAID. Cutting you up causes swelling, and swelling causes pain.  You're a sleever, not a RNYer, so you should be able to take them, and research has shown that they're more effective at treating skeletal pain than narcotics.  I also second the previous poster's mention of topical pain relief like biofreeze. It won't replace prescription pain relief, but every little bit helps.
