New protein bar: made with crickets

So, I was cruising CNN this morning and found....

Intellectually, I realize these are just fine. I mean, we eat bugs every day in our food products, but...

What are your thoughts? I would likely try it, I mean, I eat sweetbreads and all kinds of things that are yummy that some people would be freaked out about, but.... cricket-based protein bars? Hmmm...

My kids eat cricket suckers.  They say it is just crunchy but other than that has no weird taste to it.

A protein bar with crickets would be the grossest thing I've seen all week, had I not seen that picture of the naked selfie Geraldo posted on Twitter......   I think I'll stick to the Quest peanut butter cups.  Those are not too bad.

I will take the cricket bar over the Quest Cravings PB cups anyday. Those things are disgusting!

Bugs are nothing but pure crunchy protein.  We eat things a lot weirder than crickets - snails come to mind.  Mmmmmm, escargot!  See, give it a fancy French name, and it's all okay!

I'd give it a try depending on the rest of the macros...you can't tell it's crickets - it's not whole crickets baked into the bar.

Hmmm...I have eaten weirder things...and crickets in Asia and some parts of Africa are like popcorn or sunflower seeds. Grilled whole with spices they are crunchy and really delicious!! Really!! I promise! What are the stats on these bars? I read the article and actually the cricket flour would be of interest to me! I can think of lots of things I could do with that! Cricket pancakes...cricket pizza crust...cricket carrot cake...the possibilities are endless!! Cricket cupcakes anyone??
