How many of you workout five or more days a week? I have found that now that I am in the 150's I love to run. I am trying to work up to 3 miles a day outside. How many calories should I be burning in a day? I am stuck at 158 and have been for sometime. Should I run 3 days a week and then do weights 2 days a week? Help!!!

I workout 6 days a week. 3 days a week I do a boot camp style workout with a group. That's usually an hour of cardio and resistance training. Then 2 days a week I workout with my trainer on weights for 1/2 and do 1/2 of cardio afterwards. The 1 day a week I workout on my own and do either the treadmill or elliptical. I always do interval training where I have a minute at a low resistance and then 3 minutes as fast as I can go. With these workouts according to my heart rate monitor my workout is between 450 to 650.

Just yesterday I was wearing a sleeveless dress and I had two people comment on my "guns"... good thing I didn't lift up my arms so they could see my "wings" LOL.

I do two sessions with my trainer, three or four boot camp classes, and a tap dancing class every week.  I love being a gym rat and having muscles!  Definitely lifting weights is something to consider incorporating into your routine!

I'm 5'2" and 55 years old.  VSG 3/17/10

My surgeon wants AT LEAST 30 minutes of cardio 5 days a week.(or a total of 150 minutes weekly).  He also recommends weight training 2 to 3 times a week.

I am up to 34 minutes of cardio 5 days a week and 2 days upper body weights and 2 days lower body weights.

My weight loss has been steady with no real stalls (yet), I believe the exercise has really helped.

Weight training helps build muscle and increases your metabolic rate.
