Real life...real derailment
Posting this to give myself a record of recommitment...
On June 25th, my father in law passed away after a long illness...and my plan went off the rails. Between not eating or hydrating, I drank every night...with drinking, came eating off-plan items. I haven't exercised in over a week and I can feel it.
I am getting back to my plan...I'm down 84lbs @ 4 months out and i've worked to hard to get derailed now.
Sleeved 6/12/13 - 100 pounds lost to get to goal!
I am very sorry for your loss. One of the more critical skills we all need IMHO is the ability to each and every time crawl back on the wagon after a poor choice, or in my case at times a few consecutive days of poor choices. It happens, and it always surprises me how quickly periods like that make me feel like complete crap. The kind of crappy feeling I was feeling every day prior to surgery. I don't miss that. I do miss being on the wagon when I am struggling. Sometimes it takes me a couple days to get back to the right path, and I end up on making small changes each day until I am back to where I need to be. Other times, I am able to just start fresh once I decide to. I think the important thing is that you are recognizing the situation, and doing something about it. Very, very important skill to have for successful maintenance. Hang in there and be gentle with yourself and welcome back to the wagon train!

One of the great things about the sleeve is that it's always there, ready to help out. Even with takeaway for most meals I only went up a few pounds (all that sodium!) and those went quickly. I'm making a point of eating lightly for a couple of days. (Fred appreciates the rest) For me that's shakes, fish, veg, fruit, a serving of high fibre cereal each day and plenty of fluids.
You can do this.

I'm very fortunate in having loving friends and church family. Barry and Emily both came home for lunch on Tuesday (Monday was a holiday), friends have come over just to sit and let me blether. The church and my ladies group sent flowers, our pastors visited during vigil and called afterward to talk. (and listen)

Kelly-Anne, I'm so sorry about your mom. My mom died in October (she was 89). We were living together--it was the most painful thing, and I walked around for months in a numbed state of mind. Take care of yourself!
