KC Bariatric Center WOW!!!! lightweight
Hello Everyone
I must say that in my two year journey in finding the right surgeon and right facility that more or less handles all aspects of getting you from thinking about it to surgery day the KC Bariatric Center at the Shawnee Mission Hospital is absolutely got there stuff together. I have been thru four different doctors and have researched getting sleeved now for two years so I could be sure I was making the right decision and the folks and my case agent at KC Bariatric sealed the deal. I have two friends that have had it done that are truck drivers and although there inability to be able to have planned meals and exercise facilities at hand they have both done very well. I have an excess of about 70 lbs to lose to be where I need to be and my reasons are all medical for having the procedure. I had a lot of the pre work already done and my first doctors visit was May 22nd and They scheduled all the testing and classes around a second visit (6/19 and 6/20) that took two full days, but I left there with a surgery date of date of 7/25. WOW!! talk about not messing around. Dr Hohen and his staff are the best at what they do. I recommend this place to anyone no matter where you live Five stars***** KC Bariatric
Is anyone else using this facility and had the same urgency I received?

What other info can you give us? What is their technique/bougie size. EWL, etc etc? What is their complication rate?
Dr. Hoehn was my surgeon and he was fantastic...wonderful state of the art facility, all testing done in house, fantastic staff.
Dr. Hoehn used a 34F bougie, oversewn to reduce any "stretch" of the sleeve. EWL on his website is 60-70%, however, these stats do need updating as the website information is pretty dated. Didn't inquire about complications...just didn't dawn on me.
Personally, I haven't had one complication...no vomiting, no super pain at recovery, and very minor issues with constipation.
I would definitely recommend him...
I also used Dr. Hoen at KC Bariatric Center. Great center! I was self pay, so the case manager that I had was not the best, but I fully trusted the doctor's skills. I was also considered a light weight in the weight loss world. I was 202 the day of surgery, after losing 15 pounds from the 1 week liquid diet and being ill the week before the liquid diet. I do wish that I was losing faster though.
