Ok I had surgery on 5-15-13. I decided to go back to work on 6-4. I started working out on the same day. I was tireddddddd! On 6-5, I got on the elliptical after 30seconds I was tired. I stopped at about 2 mins. Then started back. Fast forward to today, I did 50 straight mins with an increase to level 3 the last 10mins. This is an extremely joyous moment. Ya'll just don't know. I have a question though. Since I started working out I've gained 4 lbs. I've increased my water intake so I'm close to my goal amount...anyone have any insight on this?

Normal, especially if you're increasing intensity.  Are you lifting or just doing cardio on the elliptical?  How much water are you drinking?  You should try to drink half your body weight a day, and if you're exercising you should drink even more.  That's just a guideline, and it can seem like an appalling amount of water, but I promise you it is worth the effort :)

Congrats to you!

Way to go I know just how elated you feel missthingg . I had my surgery the same day as you and last week went on a 5 mile hike up a mountain and a steep one at that . I thought I was going to die. But I persevered and I did make it to the top with the rest of the group that had been walking in this group for 3 years. It was my first time. I feels so good though doesn't it? I know we will have many more great successes together on this journey!! Keep up the great work !! Tracyangry

Oh ya by the way I gained that week as well. I went to the gym twice that week and the hike. But yay  this morning after 7 days of no loss and a 2 lb gain its back to normal. So I wouldn't worry about it.

When you tear down muscle, they retain water for the repair. Don't worry, it will come back off.

Working out is so much fun once a little weight has come off. Kind of like the old days.
