When did you start puréed food?

I had my surgery on 4-4-13. My doctor wanted me on a liquide diet for one week before surgery and for 2 weeks after. I have one more week to go and I can not stand the idea of waiting until Friday when I see the surgeon to advance to puréed foods. All I can have is protein shakes, milk, broth, sf jello, sf Popsicles.

i'm 2 weeks on liquids as well.  but this includes yogurt and thinned creamed or pureed veg soups (blended and strained) as well as the items you mention.  I see my doc (or nurse at least) on wednesday and hope to be cleared  for the puree ... but to be honest, i'm more than a little scared to start eating again, evne if purreed.  worried i'll eat too much in terms of calorie, or too much and hurt sleeve.  I dont feel a lot of restriction atm, well nothing i can identify as restriction, just a dull sense of uncomfortableness.

do you have a nutritionist you can call for advise ahead of your appointment?  she might allow a few other items to make it more barable for you

I can have puréed foods now, but my stomach still feels better when I just eat shakes, milk, broth, and jello.  Hope you can make it till Friday.  My shakes tasted aweful for the first two weeks, too.

Just somewhat the doctor says. No one is meeting each week to applaud our ways of doing things, so let it go and just follow The Plan.

I wasn't put on pureed foods until about 3 weeks after my surgery. I was on 10 days of clear liquids, 10 days of full liquids then 10 days of pureed/soft foods. Then the final stage was any foods as tolerated, but always eat protein first.  I think my surgeon was a little stricter about advancing to each new phase though. The first 10 days was the worst because I was supposed to drink clear protein shakes. Those are WAY worse than just protein shakes! When I was put on full liquids, I was allowed to have cream soups also, as long as there weren't any chunks at all. You can make it until Friday. The surgeon just wants your new stomach to have a chance to heal before moving on to more foods.

Can those be found at GNC? If we don't like those, what other options do we have for clear protein?

I don't know abt GNC but Vitamin Shoppe carries them for sure. I don't know any other clear protein option.. maybe unjury chicken soup flavoured one counts as a clear? It is sort of clear.. yellow but not cloudy.
