That's true that we do have a lot of scar tissue.  I will only use them sparingly like after my cleaning jobs 1x a week and during my periods when I'm in the most pain.  Otherwise I'll just have to stick with the Tiger Balm for my head neck shoulders and feet on a daily basis.

Maybe taking Aloe Vera would help the stomach to prevent ulcers better than PPIs.

That was the understanding I had as well.  While my specific written instructions said no NSAIDS, the surgeon was happy to clear me for use the week after surgery - as long as i took a liquid version.

For some reason the surgery triggered a bad gout attack (probably dehydration) and Naproxen works great to alleviate those for me.  Haven't had one since the week after the surgery, so add another thing that the surgery cleared up :)

I just put up a post about what Dr C thinks about it because that's her doctor and he's done more sleeves that anyone in the US so if she got that from him I'd be very happy and trust it!!  Being that the two Mexican doctors also had similar viewpoint too and they have also done a lot of sleeves as well.   Glad to her your doctor's viewpoint is the same.  :-)  It seems that that doctors that have the viewpoint of NO Nsaids really don't do a lot of sleeves more RNYs.  I will be so happy to know if I can take Nsaids as safely as pre-op.    Alleve and Advil are truely the only two meds that work for my pain not entirely but they sure take the edge off.  Extra Strength Tylenol and Celebrex is like water!   lol

You should be able to take anything that you took before surgery.  My doctor has no problem with me taking OTC meds as long as I follow the dosage and don't take them for days on end.

Good to know.  Thank you.  So not going to take take them like pre-op doubling up to get prescription strength.  I will use them sparely.

My surgeon says they're ok and thank God because I have psoriatic arthritis and have been taking some kind on NSAID since I was sleeved over 4 years ago with no issues at all. Hope that helps.

Laura

p.s. there are times when I've taken them daily for months, several doses a day
