Binge food and a bit of an NSV - mental shift

It's taken me a long time to not have any feelings when I drive by fast food places. But I'm glad for both of us.

That's fantastic! I still have a mental struggle every time I drive past a McDonalds (the source of most of my binges). I wish there weren't so damn many of them!

At Christmas time, I used to feel that way about Red Velvet Cake. I used to love it , but when I tried a little, it was too sweet and I threw the rest away. Now, I walk by it, and it doesn't have the pull that it used to have. The mental changes have been  awesome. I think what reminds me to eat at  times, is my exercise schedule. I eat to fuel my weight training and other activities.

I was born in Texas but hadn't lived there in over 20 years but whenever my dad visits he will go to the store and buy all the fixings for breakfast tacos with chorizo, eggs, cheese and salsa. I only eat them when he makes them! I understand what you are saying,  before when I would go out with my kids/family we would normally always stop and eat while we were out, so often that my kids expect it every time we leave (and I did too). Now, I tell them no and I work my errands around my meals at home.  Not saying we never eat out but I don't opt for it like I used to because A I can't really eat what I want to anyway, B there is always a ton of leftovers that I will have to eat for days, C it's extra calories I don't want to add to my daily intake.

You can do it! You have lost 215 lbs that is such an inspiration to me. You have come so far! Tell those taco's to go screw! frown

This is a very important post and an important shift in perspective.  I have found that there are other foods and other activities that "light" me up now and I focus on those.  The same food places no longer push my buttons.  Now if you offer me a little well seared tuna..... :)

And I know what I'm making for breakfast as its 1130 pm here :) I grew up in the south and live in the Midwest and breakfast tacos have always been popular :)

LOL.. I seem to have started a trend... sorry! Actually, not. The insides are pretty VSG friendly :)

Thanks, everyone... it's different to not be salivating, waiting on it to open.
