Pre-workout supplements

I have started running and am doing the C25K week 5 this coming week. For those of you that run, is there something that you take pre-workout to give you the boost of energy that you need to make it through your run? If so what flavor do you prefer?

I started taking a hammer gel preworkout at week 7 when the sustained 25 min runs come into play. I like the expersso chocolate one 90 calories (Canada).  I also found for me I need to make sure I am eating my 800 to 1000 calories the day before the run or else I just crash. I also added an orange or small piece of fruit into my food plan.  I am on MFP if you want to check out my menu. I don't always enter my exercise but I am diligent about my food. not a runner but I lift weights 5 days a week followed by 25-30 mins hiit cardio 7 days a week. Check out a product called jack3d or cellucor c4.
