So I saw the commecial for the Atkins Diet frozen meals featuring Sharon Osbourne. I think she had the bypass years ago, and had had some weight gain and claims to have used these meals to loose weight .  Today i saw them at walmart and decided to buy a couple to see how they taste.

here is the website

 http://www.atkins.com//Products/Frozen-Meals/Atkins-Frozen-M eals/Lunch---Dinner/Chicken---Broccoli-Alfredo.aspx

The Chicken and broccoli in alfredo sauce has 26g of protein, 330 calories and 5 net carbs.

Now I am not the type of person to eat tv-dinners/frozen meals, whatever you like to call the, mainly because of the calories and sodium content.

But i wanted to see what you guys think of these frozen meals. Would it be ok to fit one of these into my diet?
I have recently been  almost evey day, having one day off here in there if any. And have had very little time to prepare foods, i have been living on cottage cheese, yogurt and cheese sticks. lol I guess this is the reason why these meals caught my eye.

I've tried them. They're pretty good, but you have to be careful because they are REALLY high in fat. Even for breaking it down into 1/4 or 1/2 meals at a time.

I was wondering about them too.  I put a very similar post to yours last week.  Got a lot of negative feedback.  Some say the chicken ones were okay but the meatloaf ones taste real gross.

I would guess they would be a good alternative if you aren't up to cooking.  Probably healthier than eating out.

I am one that OATHS cooking but what I have been doing since I can eat solids now is putting some chicken (already cleaned and marinated from Wegmans) in a slow cooker with a few frozen veggies.  Takes 2 minutes.  Than I just leave it all day.  Comes out pretty good.   I don't know if that gives you an idea of something to eat other than cottage cheese, yogurt or cheese sticks.   Also eggs are good too and take 2 minutes to cook in almost any form.  Hope this helps. :-)

In the last month I have had 2. The crustless chicken pot pie and the sausage scramble for breakfast. They were both pretty good although a tad high in calories. Sure you could make them yourself with less calories but if they fit in your day I dontvseebwhere they hurt once in a while.

funny you should ask... last night I had a breakfast of theirs for dinner, it was scrambled egg with peppers and sausage, it was called Farmers something-or-other....  it tasted really good actually, the eggs had great consistency out of the microwave, which I was shocked about.   However, I looked at the nutrition label as I was cooking and saw how much fat,  we're talking 55% of the recommended daily value of saturated fat for the day, and I was regretting the purchase just based on that.  I shouldve looked in the store, not while cooking.   it was good though !
