Man, this stuff gets harder the closer to "normal" you get (ramblings)
Yeah, hard won, indeed. And these last 20 or so are going to be even harder, but I'll get there :)

LOL... I don't think I can be a real shero until I get my lazy butt back in the gym. LOL. I've promised myself that after my birthday in early March...

I "stalled" for over a year, Various reasons and life style choices. Recently I have been dropping weight again. The closer I get to my " goal weight" the more I look at quality of life more than then weight loss. Look for ways to be happy at what number on the scale says. The journey is the joy- not the destination!
I should say that I'm very happy. I'm lucky that I have an amazing family and support system. I'm just not happy with where my weight is and I know I want to continue the fight. I'm not done yet. You are right, it's all about choices and since about 9 months, it's been all about my own choices and less about the surgery. Those choices directly affect everything. Right now, I'm choosing to cut back again and get this thing finished. LOL

Oh, the BMI tables are totally bogus. It depends on a lot of stuff. I just know there's still too much real fat on my body still. That's kind of what I'm going by at this point - how I feel and how I look. We'll see what happens in 16 more pounds. I know I need to get that much off.
But yeah... I sometimes forget that I'm MUCH smaller now than I was so 4 pounds is a big difference. That's like 2% of my starting body weight for the month that I lost! LOL :)
Yeah, I spent 30 years with my head in the sand and denying stuff about food and weight. I'm not doing that anymore. Even when I screw up, I keep my eyes open. It's hard. LOL

Candy, you are doing AMAZING!! i was in awe when I read that your BMI was in the 20's!!
Hang in there and enjoy the ride, before you know it you will be posting that you are exactly where you want to be! you are a star on this board and are an inspiration as well as an example for those of us who want to hear all the ups and downs from you vets so that we can better prepare ourselves for our own journey!
Congrats on your success and for keeping it real!!
Oh, I'm not vet. I really don't think you can call yourself a vet until you're around five years out, to be honest. LOL. Even then, I bet this whole thing will always be a process.
I KNOW. I cannot believe my BMI is 20-anything! Hell, I'm still giddy that the scale doesn't start with a "3". LOL.
I'll get there... mostly because I want it bad enough. I want it BAD.

Since I'm still pretty early out, I realize my input may be novice, but still wanted to post.
I started those protein bars a month or so ago after seeing them on your MFP and others too. They are pretty good! Especially for a quick, convenient protein meal/snack. BUT, I noticed my weight loss stall out while using them. I was having one a day or every couple days, still staying under my 600-800 calories, but it was nice for travel, etc. I have posted before about my gluten theories and I know you replied that you had some gluten sensitivities too. I realized those bars have gluten in them, so I stopped eating them...at least for now...at least until I would lose what I need to. I am "trying" to eat cleaner most of the time, no processed stuff, besides my protein shake. That makes SUCH a difference in my weight loss! You would think with me having discovered that, I would always eat that way, but no...those darn 4 corn chips, etc.!
It is so easy for us to all know exactly what we should do, but doing it 100% of the time is different. I know you have succeeded in your journey and will continue to succeed. Don't let anyone tell you to settle for where you are though... you know where you want to be and you will get there!!
