Flax seed.
My friend gave me some protein samples from Amazing grass. I tried one and I realized it had flax seed in it. I know I'm not supposed to have seeds and nuts til 6 weeks out. I'm only a tad over 3 weeks out. I only took two tastes before I realized. (It was ground not sure if that doesn't make it as bad.) I sure hope that it doesn't get stuck in the staple line. Ended up giving the shake to my husband, didn't want to waste it. He didn't appreciate it as much as I would have. Flavor was Vanilla Chai.

I think your not supposed to have things the size of sunflower seeds or bigger, peanuts or bigger. Flax seed that is ground up or flax meal should be fine.
Soon you will be able to make Muffin's in a Minute with Flax meal and such. Those are fun and very easy to make. I haven't played enough with the recipe to come out with great ideas for modifications yet but I am thinking something my friend says on his website ... the one that I have linked to many times ... think about adding applesauce to the muffin mix. Yum.
Is that muffin recipe on Shelly's website? (eggface)

Nope ... It is on my friend's website ... Dave Schronce ... he has tons of recipes ... he had gastric bypass and has always been somewhat of a amateur chef (perhaps closer to a pro). He has made recipes "weight loss friendly"
http://www.schronce.net/forum/index.php?16
Go to the above link and click on the label ... WLS Friendly. There are 4 pages of recipes ... including Muffin in a Minute with a ton of variations on the theme. These are good. I have made them with flax meal and also almond meal. Next time I am going to try a mixture using coconut flour (at least that is what I am thinking).
There are a lot of really nice looking recipes for various stages of weight loss including maintenance.
1/4 cup flax meal (toasted flax meal if you can find it)
1/4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1 beaten egg
Mix all together in a microwave proof mug. Nuke for 1 minute. Allow to cool for a minute or so, tip out of mug, slice and enjoy.
I like SF apricot jam on mine.

Also not all flaxseed flour is made quite the same. Some may have a little more fat some are milled differently so you get more of the original format (I think with husks? maybe .... not sure about that)
Use the link I put in the post above to see additional things you may do with this recipe. Like adding pumpkin puree or applesauce or raisins or almonds or almond flour instead of flax or a "pizza" version ... many many variations on the theme.
My friend posts the following using an egg instead of egg whites ...

It sounds like a good strachy/carb alternate. Flax is really healthy from the Omegas. :-) I will wait til I'm at least 6 weeks out though before I try them. Besides I probably couldn't fit one yet anyway. lol
