Why, yes, you CAN eat too fast 17 months out... oy vey.
Well, that's good to know! Maybe I will learn eventually!
Ya know, drinking... I can sit here and drink down a whole 16 oz bottle of water without stopping and nothing. Nodda. No biggie. Can NOT do that with warm liquids though. It's the freakiest thing. I can still drink it fast, but not as fast. But yeah, liquids - as long as they aren't carbonated - are no problem at all.
Now, carbonation. OMFG. I've accidently drank out of the wrong glass a few times and even NOW, one sip sends me to the bathroom wishing the elephant would get off my chest or just kill me already. LOL... so weird.

Sorry you had to feel icky, but I am glad you posted. Good to know your sleeve is still working so far out. Every once in awhile I get caught off guard and think I should be able to eat 3 ounces of something and low and behold that icky feeling comes at 2 ounces. Thankful for the helpful reminders.
I myself had a Thanksgiving week reminder about eating junk. Eat junk, feel like junk! Plus, sick for a whole day with intestinal cramps because you ate too much processed food. Glad it happened. Horrible 24 hours, but so thankful for the reminder of how my body used to feel eating so much junk and volume of food. Needless to say, am still eating soft foods today after three days, just to give my system a break. Whole natural foods too. My body is much happier this week.
“Not many of us are living at our best. We linger in the lowlands because we are afraid to climb the mountains. The steepness and ruggedness dismay us, and so we stay in the misty valleys and do not learn the mystery of the hills. We do not know what we lose in our self indulgence. What glory awaits us if only we had the courage for the mountain climb. What blessing we should find if only we would move to the uplands of God.? JRM
Yeah, my body doesn't like too much junk either. I know my limit for sure, otherwise I'm sick.
This was just a stupid noob mistake - 17 months out too. LOL. But yeah, just thought I'd share my pain. LOL

Thanks for this post! I thought I was the only post-op still having problems with eating too fast. It is my biggest challenge-- I can choose healthy food to eat just fine, I can drink the water, watch my portions...but I often have this tremendous impulse to wolf my food down (with disastrous results). I need to figure out how to slow it down.
Candy,
I know EXACTLY how you feel. I eat too fast a lot---I'm a type A personality and always rushing from one thing to the next. My sleeve ALWAYS lets me know that I ate too fast with that lovely feeling of a rock in your stomach This is probably the single most uncomfortable issue I deal with at 14.5 months postop. Ya think I'd learn...

Luckily, I have yet to throw up because of overeating or anything. I have taken a bite or two too much and slimed, but never barfed... not yet anyway. I hope I never do. I HATE to throw up.
