Well, that was STUPID. I was rushing out to run an errand this morning and grabbed my cottage cheese and ate it too fast, I guess.

Old habits die hard. The good news is that I've not done that in a very long time. The bad news is holy hell, that hurt.

Dear self: SLOW DOWN.

good lesson.. I hope I never have to learn on my own self and am learning through all of your collective experience. I do find that at 7 weeks out now I can eat a little faster and chew a little less and eat a little more.... avoiding that slippery slope!!!!

Yeah, I can definitely eat "normal speed" now, although my new normal is still slower than my old one, I think. I tend to take my time usually. Just a stupid moment this morning rushing around. Next time, grab a protein bar or shake. LOL. Ah well, live and learn.

I have news for you, even at 3.5 years it can happen.  Not so much because of eating too fast, but eating too much can still give me the foamies.  This happened to me just a few months ego, when I shrank my stomach down by eating mostly soup for a week and then went out to a concert with friends and ate a normal size (for me) portion.  Ouch.  But you know what?  I was happy it happened.  Means my stomach is still small.

Elina that is sooooooooooo nice to hear!!!  I keep having these feelings that I will fail the sleeve too!!  I continually read over everything and do exactly what I am suppose to.  It sounds like it will pay off.  That is awesome 3.5 years out.  I feel like I have never stayed at a goal for even 3.5 minutes.  I love reading your posts!!!  MB

You are not going to fail this.  Really, this is totally different than anything you have done before.  You will always have your tool, always.  Your hunger will never be as strong (in most cases) and you will have me kicking your butt.  :)  Just kidding, but we are all here for each other and that helps a great deal.

Yeah, this was definitely a too fast thing... it was just my little 4 oz container of cottage cheese. I just spooned it up and ran out and about 2 minutes later had to come back home to wait it out. LOL. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. I can usually eat pretty fast, but yeah. That was a "I'm late... hurry up" moment. Should have grabbed a protein bar. LOL

I have struggled post-op to eat slow.  Luckily I have never gotten the foamies.  I don't know if that means I never eat enough to make me sick or if I have just been fortunate.  I have gotten that ouchie feeling though!!!

I've only gotten the foam/slime thing a few times and always by eating too much. Eating too fast makes that "ouch" pressure thing that I got this morning. Stupid cottage cheese. I should have taken a protein bar and eaten in the car instead of trying to choke it down. I KNOW better.
