Is pain with drinking water normal?

I don't know if I would call it pain but I can't do more than wet my lips or sip through my teeth, but it seems to help to use lukewarm water instead of cold. And walk afterward.   The hardest part of this whole thing for me has been that I am a water drinker and I am used to filling a frosty glass and drinking it down.  I miss that.  So what I have started doing is filling my mouth with my frosty water and spitting it out.  Wasteful? maybe but at least I can have my guilty pleasure of that cold water and not have cramps or throw up.

A side note...I am into my 6th day and sugar free juice popsicles and jello seem to be a trigger for me to throw up what I have consumed for the day.  Gonna try sorbet or sherbet today and stay away from red juice bases.  Never had a sensitivity before but something is amiss

I had that pain.  It was so bad.  I lived with it for 2 weeks before I asked about it.  I was put on Carafate for gastritis.   If you are taking small sips and it doesn't get better soon...ask your surgeon!
