194 Lost. Unbelievable. (And leaving Frisco in the dust)

I just needed to post this morning. I've lost 194 pounds.

Just think about that for a minute. I did.

I'm just speechless. I'm not looking for congrats or kudos or whatever this morning, I just wanted to reflect on that. We all grumble about the scale not moving or about going up a pound now and then or about an occasional slip up, and goodness knows I've spent my fair share of time doing all of those things, but when you sit back and look at the grand scheme of things... I've lost 194 pounds in 16.5 months. I weigh 181 pounds. I have 6 pounds to go until "goal" (which I'll revise, I already know).

Who the hell does that people? We are all amazing. *I* am pretty damn amazing. I must email my therapist because something clicked this morning as I got on that scale. I don't know what, but all the petty crap that goes on in my head just seems... petty... this morning.

Okay, just had to share, you know me... I think it, I say it. LOL

(Oh, and Frisco -- eat my dust, dude!) Hehehe :) xoxo

You give me great hope that I can pick up this surgery tool and run with it to better health and a happier life!  Thank you so much for sharing this.

I want to give you congratulations even though you're not seeking them.  :)

You can do it. I know you can. My biggest advice is that, if you need it, seek counseling. I think that's been a bigger component than the surgery for me. I had a lot of stuff in my head that needed help. I think most of us didn't get to be where we are because we're hungry. Just my 2 cents and brutal honesty.

Thank you too. YOU CAN DO THIS.

I am completely open to counseling.  While others in my gaggle of new friends from our surgeons' seminar dreaded their psych evals or otherwise had nothing good to say about them upon completion, mine was one of the most pleasant hour-and change I've spent in a long while.  My evaluator was a counselor to whom I would return in a heartbeat to help me sort out whatever comes my way emotionally on this journey.

Yeah, in the beginning I thought "I don't really need this" because the weight slides off and everything is rosy (at least for me it was) and then somewhere around 4-6 months reality hits. LOL. Damn that reality. Do what you need to do for you. xoxo

You inspire me!  It's so nice to see someone making it so far while admitting they haven't been perfect at their eating/exercise.  So many on here pretend to never eat off plan, etc.  Yeah, right.

Oh, I don't know. I think most will admit to slipping up. And I'll be honest, while I'm all about finding a plan that works for you, the big touted plan is what I stick to most of the time. Most of my day is 800 calories, 40-50 carbs, lots of water, etc. But twice per month I go up to 1200 per day. And every now and then I say "eff it" (which is usually NOT planned and I shouldn't be doing, but I forgive myself and move on - which is where a lot of people get stuck I think).

I dunno. I think some people SEEM perfect, but if you really talk to them... they aren't and weren't. I am just the least perfect because I admit to eating ice cream (see a previous thread from today) and stuff like that and fitting it into my plan for the day. Heck, I had pizza toppings and 1/2 of a skinny cow ice cream last night and still was 700 calories for the day.

Anyway, just wanted to stick up for the perfect people. They ain't perfect, most don't claim to be, they are just passionate about trying to help those that seem to have strayed too far. We all have different ways of approaching those type of people and ways of eat. Some people HAVE to eat perfect all the time, I believe. They trigger easily. I know my trigger foods and I avoid them.

I guess my belief is know thyself. LOL

Hi Sleevegirl,

absolutely unbelievable. If you visualize this amount that you lost it is like an adult and a child........lol. Congrats.

I agree with you, we are all amazing in our own way. And it also goes to show that we can do it, no matter how hard it might seem to reach our personal goals.

So happy to hear that you say "something clicked this morning" which tells me that it has had a positive impact on your emotional and physiological well being. It definitely changes a person.

Sincerely,

Rita

Yup, I always say that my weight loss is more mental than physical. The sleeve was just the catalyst. LOL - good or bad (and there are mental health days that I think.... ;)
