So I had GERD going in, but this is getting ridiculous. After one sip of water, or a sip of protein, I cannot stop burping. I am taking Prilosec as well, but I am afraid to open my mouth just in case.

How can I make them stop?

I am not nausous at all. I want the noise to stop. Any help? Oh and the hiccups are not helping either.

You will burp quite bait more than you used to - thats just the price of a smaller tummy.  If you are burping and hiccuping excessively you may be eating and drinking too fast.  Are you drinking through a straw - that mixes in quite a bit of air with your liquids and can cause burping.  IF you are already on purees, make sure you chew until the food is almost liquid in your mouth.  When it goes down there will be much less air in it and you wont burp as much.

As you start to get full, you may experience burping as well.  That was one of my first signs to stop when I was fresh out of surgery and couldn't feel my stomach well.

I burped constantly at first, but it stopped after a few weeks. I'm inclined to think that it was caused by my sleeve being swollen (so air I swallowed had no choice but come back up) or the fact that my bowels being a bit slow to get going.

Whichever it was, after a few weeks the burping and hiccuping settled right down.

Oh - if it's swelling, either really cold drinks to reduce swelling a bit or hot ones that'll relax your sleeve will go down better and with less burping. Broth and sugarfree slurpies were my 2 best friends.

I didn't stop burping for a few months. It's a lot better now but I still burp. Just wait until you're terrified of farting... THAT one's fun...

I've already been there!

I think this last bout of burping is from drinking too fast. I shortly got very nausous. I am just glad this will subside eventually. But man those hiccups are what really hurt.
