The power of asking someone WHY????


Well, this person told me last week they were having a lap-band..I asked why?? and where are you getting you're fills..Because she was going to Mexico for surgery. Well she did a bit of research and is getting the sleeve now!!!!....She didn't really know why the band...But, now feels at peace with the sleeve decision!!!!!!...Am happy for her!!!


Why I wrote this is, because I see soooo many people on here with horror stories of the band and turn to the sleeve. I know there is success stories with the band.. Just like the sleeve, some go on to the DS...But, I think she will do just fine with our family!!!

You go girl!  That was exactly the right question to ask.  So many of us come to this confused.  I thought I wanted the band until I heard about the Sleeve.  The only thing I knew for sure was that I didn't want RNY.   USAF Wife (Tiffy) convinced me in a split second that I wanted the Sleeve over the band!

There was a post in the mexico forum asking about the lapband. I just hope they do their research if they do decide on the band. I know there is so much advertisement about it in the USA which is scary after reading the complications people have with it and not many good long term. I did go peek at the lapband forum, yes there are some success stories but I guess mainly reading this forum and seeing the problems people have with it I would definitely never recommend the band. I have a friend that had the band last year but she doesn't really talk much about it so not sure how they still feel about it. Tried to talk her into going to mexico with me for the vsg instead, but they believed in the band.
