Goodbye old Friend!!
In just about 3 hours I will be having my band removed and begin my journey to the sleeve. I have had theis band for 5 years now and it was my friend for the first couple of years but the last three it has been a love hate relationship. Will not miss it one bit!!!!
As I prepared for the surgery today I have really cut down on my eating and have been taking in more protein shakes but have noticed that I have not lost very much weight at all!
This has me a little scared. What if I don't lose like I am wanting to with the sleeve? Will this be all for nothing? I have to make this work. This is my last resort. I will not go through weight loss surgery again!!!
For those of you that have been on every diet out there and starved yourself on the preoop diet and did not lose like you thought you would, how did you do with the sleeve?

Congrats Teresa and welcome BACK to the loser's bench. We have had to replace the bench with a stadium now because of the all newbies but there is plenty of room and we will be waiting with baited breath for you to arrive!
If you need anything at all, let us know..that's what we are here for and what this is all about. Don't be scared..you'll be fine and with all the support here you will make your goals in no time!

I have been on WW, Atkins, Farrell's, Body for life, Optifast, OTC diet pills of all sorts, RX diet pills, low calorie diet, & I'm sure I'm missing something.....lol
I had a pre-op diet of 1200 calories for 2 weeks & liquid for 2 days & only clear liquid last day before surgery. I guess in comparison my pre-op wasn't terrible. However I thought I'd lose more than I did & had same questions as you.
My sleeve was done 3/22/12. I have lost a total of 63lbs since 3/1/12 (15lbs before surgery, mostly due to being sick from the H-Pylori meds)
Have faith, it will all come together as long as you follow plan!

Teresa....first-wishing you a safe surgery and speedy recovery. You will succeed because you are committed to sucess. I never could lose weight and keep it off...but with my sleeve I have been able to lose 42.8lbs in 2 months...
Follw your plan and in any moments of weakness (ans we all have them) remember----- Don't give up what you want most for what you want right now. See you on the losers bench.
