Energy Levels

My energy level today...is zilch.  I didn't sleep well last night. I did take. 2 hour nap today which I haven't done since surgery.  My larger incision is bothering me, too. I feel like a big whine bag!  I'm drinking 60-64oz and getting 60-70grams of protein in.  Where is all this energy people talk about?  I don't want to get up out of my chair today!  Whine over...

It happens.  Don't beat yourself up over it.

What type of B-12 are you taking - Sublingual, shot, or nasal spray?  Some people on the shot report low energy right before they need their next shot.  I do the sublingual.

If the weather there is as crappy as here, you may just be suffering from the blah's.

Ive ben on B12 since my 1 week post op visit.  I am just fine with the sublingual (the one you put under your tounge and let dissolve).  Some people hate it.  If you are one of those, ask him for a scrip for the nasal spray.  The people I know who do that love it.  If his office is like mine, he probably has a ton of discount cards to help with the co-pay.

What is the difference between sublingual and just B-12?

Its how the vitamin gets absorbed.  Theres a few options - either through the gums, through the mucous membranes in the nose, or through an injection.  B-12 doesn't get absorbed in the stomach or intestines like your multi-vitamins or calcium.  You have to take B-12 through one of the other 3 forms.

I'm right there with you today so don't feel bad.  I am only 5 days post-op, had lots of energy yesterday and probably overdid it.  As I keep reminding myself, we did have major trauma to our bodies and I personally think the anesthesia remains for some.

I'll bet you feel better tomorrow.  I'm planning to!
