Feeling nauseous after taking vitamins?

I've been taking my Bariatric Advantage multivitamin along with my pepcid complete twice a day since surgery 2 weeks ago. Just last night after I took them I felt VERY ill. Got dizzy and sick to my stomach. I was sure I was going to throw up, but didn't. I didn't connect it to taking the vitamins and just went to bed. Anyway, I just took my morning vitamins and within minutes the same thing happened to me. Has anyone else ever had this happen? Any idea what could cause that?

I have to take my vitamins with food or a protein drink.  Or I throw them up too.  I've been like that for years.  Try taking them with a protein drink and see if that helps.

That's nuts, I've never had anything like that happen before. I will definatley be taking them with something else from now on. That feeling is miserable.

some vitamins arent meant to be taken together... some need to be taken with food ( or milk or something other than water) while others are meant to be taken with water.....

Id do more research on what Im taking and what it is safe and/or recommended to be taken with, if anything at all...

Iv resorted to using Walgreens pill reminder app on my iphone to keep up with taking my vits and supplements

Well vitamins can be very upsetting to the stomach. Ask any pregnant woman who took prenatal vitamins. Likely 3 out of 10 will say they didnt bother them and the other 7 got nausea and sick. try taking them at bedtime, with food or in smaller doses. half in morning and half in afternoon. or different brand.

I've had 5 kids and took pre-natal vitamins with everyone of them and never got the slightest bit sick from them. Isn't it weird? I guess having most of your stomach removed will change some things. I would've never thought of myself as someone with a sensitive stomach.

I've heard it can be the iron in them that some people can't tolerate...I know I can't...

I also use BA chewables and was fine the first three months after surgery. Then one day I started throwing up about 90 seconds after I took it- didn't matter whether it was AM or PM and it was only the multi, other vits were fine. I got some advice from someone on here to eat before hand- now in the AM I drink half of my protein shake then take my vits. At night I eat dinner, wait about 20 mins and take the multi. Haven't been sick since.  It's just weird that it was fine the first three months!

My BA multivitamins make me throw up every time......EVERY time.  I've tried them with and without food and/or milk and it doesn't matter for me.  I finally had to stop taking them.  I thought maybe I could try them again and last week tried them.....yep, same thing.

So, I have two GIANT bottles of vitamins I can't use.

(the iron and B-12 dont' bother me......just their multivitamin).

The BA vitamins make me very nauseous, also.  It lasts for an hour or so.  I guess in the grand scheme of things, I could deal with it, but I have started taking "one a day petites".  I am sure they aren't as helpful as the BA ones, but that feeling is not good.
