If you had asked me some time Monday night during one of my numous pain button pushes how I felt I would have tried to find something to stab you with. I felt HORRIBLE. All night I couldn't stop thinking about what a HUGE mistake I'd made and it was completely irreversible. I have never been in that much discomfort in my life.

Yesterday morning was a little better - I think because I finally got about 3 hours of solid sleep. I had to do the drink disgusting stuff test to test for leaks and happily vomited that up while waiting for someone to push me back to my room. The test looked good so I got my catheter out and all the rest of me unhooked and I could drink some water.  I did some walking after surgery and some more walking the next day.

I'm still pretty bloated but that has slowly gotten better.

The hardest thing this morning is that I am literally weak with hunger. I've taken in almost no calories since Sunday night. I'll start getting protein in today and hopefully that will help.

I just can't wait to not feel bloated. And tired.

Hang i there!   IT DOES GET BETTER!!!.  My first day after surgery was misery and I was in pain, more than I expected.  Once the gas starts to pass, it feels better.  Walking helps move that along.  Once I was back home I was much happier and the progress took off.  Remember not to push yourself too hard the first week and when you feel you have to sit down and rest.  You'll do great!

The hardest thing today has been the sugar free drinks to put the protein in (Unjury is what I bought).. I LOATHE the taste and artificial sweeteners always made me kind of nauseous. I'm having some very weak decaf mint to right now. The sugar free popsicle was bearable and my husband is bringing home jello.

I will be stoked to be on baby food, let me tell you!

I'm right there with you.  Monday my pain button was my bestfriend.  Now i'm happy to be home and heal at my own pass, and not be bugged every two hours for vitals.  My belly is pretty bloated with gas as well, just trying to walk it off, slowly but surely.

take care!
