Thank you all SO VERY MUCH!

I've done therapy in the past and am really thinking it's a good idea to get back into it. So much of this is mental!

I can not tell you enough how much I appreciate all of your thoughtful posts.

This is heavy stuff but somehow knowing I have y'all to lean makes it a teensy bit easier!

Thanks again!

i have had an occasional out of control day since surgery so i know the fear that accompanies that spiraling out of control time.

Please don't let the fear of being out of control cause such anxiety that you want to eat to deal with the fear.  And please don't feel shame.  There is nothing to be ashamed of.  Just think long term and think of your goal.  Certainly eating a lot of empty calories is self-defeating but if we were perfect with our eating, we would not have needed the sleeve in the first place.

Of course being food addicts we are going to sneak food.  The reason we do that is because we feel that a person who does not have a weight/overeating problem won't understand.

When i have had a day of out of control eating, the next day i fast with water only.  This helps me a lot not to stray from my food plan, knowing that if i botch up, i will have to fast on water the following day.  It also renews my sense of control, which feels really good.  And i quickly balance out a day of too many calories.   And it removes that restlessness/agitation that accompanied going off plan.

It sounds like you are going through an emotional time.  Please forgive yourself.  Be firm with yourself but kind.

Stay away from your trigger/problem foods so you don't create your own struggle.  You won't be so scared once you get back in control.

I suggest to reemove anything from your cupboards that can cause cravings, for me its choc bikkies if they are there then they call to me all fricken day and night, it becomes a fight to not go there and when I do I'm like why? So they are banned and I'm finding it relatively easy to stay on track..

Tell your hubby that you are struggling so he can be your pillar of support and tell him why you are cleaning out the cupboards.

There are things my hubby likes that I dont so he has a limited supply of goodies that I refrain from, do what works.

You are AWESOME!!  Look how far you've come!  I must say that I started seeing an "eating disorder" psychologist long before I ever decided to have surgery.  I've been seeing her now for over a year and her advice has been PRICELESS in this journey for me!!

Meeting with someone who knows how to get beyond this food addiction I feel is essential!  It's been one of the keys to my success so far=)

Of course the advice here is also the BEST!
You can DO THIS!!!
