So my appointment with the surgeon was supposed to be for June 26th.  But funny thing is I get a called to confirm my appointment for tomorrow.  :-)   Here when sceduling my appointment with the patient coordinator/nurse practitionar we mention a few tenative dates and some how she put me in for both by accident.  So I'm taking the appoint for tomorrow. :-) I will have an appoint still June 26th to meet the nutrionist/and shrink.  Anyone have any good ideas for questions to ask the doctor.  I have a few I wrote done but anymore I didn't think of would be great.  Thanks!  I'm nervous.  :-)

First thing I asked my surgeon was how long should I take off from work for the surgery. Second question was about what hospital the surgery would be performed at. The reason for this is because not all hospitals are the same. I also asked what kind of things I needed to do to get the surgery (i.e. sleep study, cardiologist visit, ect).

Yes I do know the hospital since I went to the info session first.   But I guess that how much time off work maybe a good question.  Someone told me it takes 6 weeks to completely heal some are able to work sooner.   Did you find that to be about right?

I thought it'd be six weeks too, but he told me anywhere from a week & a half to two weeks before I could go back to work. I took two weeks off but honestly, I could have gone back after a week.

I'll probably do something like that.   Though I work from home PT so I can go back to that sooner.  But I also do cleaning jobs PT so I probably will not go back to them for the 6 weeks since we aren't supposed to lift more than 10 lbs in the beginning.

Take a deep breath, you'll be just fine.

Before my appointment, I googled questions to ask the surgeon for the surgery I was having.  It helped me think about things to ask that were appropriate for me.  I also believe there are questions on here as well (can't think where to tell you they are though, of course).

Have you decided on the specific surgery yet?  That's one question he/she will ask you.

Yeah I'm concerned about that.  I was told this practice doesnt' oversue the staples.  Does oversuing the staples really make a big difference.  I'm not sure.

I think there mortality rate is zero the entire practice.  That's what the nurse practioner said on the phone.
