Again. I thought I was sure about getting DS. However sleeve looking more appealing now...
I am agreeing strongly with Lizanne above.. I only considered the sleeve and DS, and I was pushing the envelope for my own self personally weight-wise with choosing the sleeve.. Several personal and health factors went into why I chose one over the other, but if I was much bigger- or had been unable to stabilize my weight gains years ago- I would have had a DS. Have I made the right call- only time will tell.
I would strongly advise you to consider the DS at your weight. Not taking any personal accounts into consideration, just taking pure science and medical studies which you can google to your hearts content (and I WOULD), the DS gives you the best chance to lose down to a healthy weight and stay there. It's just a statistical fact that the DS is superior in the weight loss and maintenance numbers.. yes, statistics are not individuals, and there are exceptions and folks who fall on either extreme of the mid-line average.. but the averages are much better for the DS than the VSG, especially for high BMI patients.
I do labs every 4-6mo, my labs w/o insurance would be $1500 a pop (14vials of blood).. my insurance this far has been covering them with some clever coding by my PCPs office.
