Waking up in the middle of the night with......gas?

 Hey gang,

So last night I had two different instances where I woke up in the middle of the night feeling like there was something I needed to expell from my tummy. At first I thought I needed to throw up. I got up and walked around the bedroom for a few minutes, during which the Maharani made all kinds of gurgles and grumbles (no pain). I had very small mini-burps throughout the walking. Then, when the pressure in my chest/upper abdomen went down, I was able to lay down and fall asleep again. It seems like it would be totally normal at this stage, but I wanted to check in with my more experienced post-ops to see if they've had this experience and if so, how long did it take for the gas to completely pass?

Thanks,
Somayeh

I think it took about 3 weeks to get all of the air out.  Are you wearing a compression band?  That helped me greatly.

Maybe you should try using Gas X strips

I'm in the Netherlands these days, and after 3 days of pre-op prep shopping, I found no Gas X (or Gas X-like) products =(. The closest I found was this aweful tasting "homeopathic" solution. Man, I'd rather be bloated for 6 months than try to get that down at this stage!

I am thinking about ordering a bit of Gas X from the states & just having it mailed out ... depending on how bad this gas gets! =D

Do you still have your gallbladder ?

Yes. I don't know much about gallbladder problems, although I know what symptoms to watch out for for a gallstone.

The pain is not sharp, or localized in the right upper quadrant of my abdomen/right lower quadrant of the ribcage. It is a gasy pressure along the middle of my chest from between my breasts to my belly button. It improves with walking, and burping/hiccuping. If you know of a gallbladder concern that presents like that, please let me know! =)
