Not all Vets were created equal
Great post. I think most old-timers like myself don't post on here anymore because they dont want to be lechtured about bad food choices they make. If I had the willpower to never eat a carb or not drink another drop of alcohol or never eat a potato chip I would have lost the weight on my own without having surgery.
I can totally relate. I chose the sleeve because I wanted to be able to eat anything I wanted, just in smaller portions. The other WLS options did not fit what I thought would work for me. I failed at other diets....can't eat this, must eat that. The sleeve has been a great tool for me. I am at a healthy weight. I will never be considered skinny...nor do I want to be. I am happy to blend in the crowd.
I do tell everyone that MY eating plan works for me. I don't claim that it is for everyone. We are all different. Each person must find what works for them.....
Thanks for giving others an insight into what works for you. It is great to know that there is more than one way to be successful.

I just want to say I LOVE YOU LOL and THANKYOU!!!! I'm so happy I'm not the only one that feels this way.I understand not everything is going to work for everybody. But that was is my point.I almost wanted to leave this forum because If you DISAGREE with the MAJORITY of the vets here.Your automatically wrong and your sabotaging yourself and blah bllah..Making me feel like what my nut taught me in the 6months of sessions she was wrong. Now I'm not saying to go run out and eat Mcdonalds or pizza and all these bad things NO but I don't think if you have a bite or a treat and you put it in your plan I don't think you should be hung to the cross and be put down.I just don't understand why we all can't. Agree to disagree and get along. It really bothers me. Anyways Thanks again !

Thanks all for speaking up. It has been rough for those following a different oath to goal lately.

It has been rough for those following a different oath to goal lately. when I was here constantly (for at least 6 months pre-op and a long time postop) I was so glad and grateful to find others like me who didn't count carbs or go ultra low carb or whatever it's called. got to goal easily and maintaining for a long time now.
I was atypical in some other ways and I'm glad I was able to find & connect with people who - like me - felt that it was OK not to do it the same way "everyone" else was.
pay attention to what works for you, people, and branch out some. talk to people on your state board, maybe, or people with a different surgery.
the more variety, the better, when it comes to experiences, that 's what I think.
and now for a random LOL cat
once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.
PM me if you are interested in either of these.

Thank you for your post. I had a addiction to soda pre surgery. I did eat sweets but breads were never my thing. I never did binge eating either. I yo-yo dieted and had skipped meals since elementary school. That and childbearing and hormonal birth control blew my weight up.
I am very sensitive to sodium. I will have to watch that more than anything.

I'm so glad you posted! I was thinking that something was wrong with me. I have been on every kind of diet there is. I decided to have the sleeve b/c I thought later on down the road I could eat what I wanted but in moderation. I'm 5 months out and have lost 70 lbs. The weight is not going as fast as some, but it's going. I was very strict at first, but now I treat myself to something special every now and then. By doing this, it has kept me on track. Before the surgery, I ate sweets like crazy. Now I eat something sweet from time to time, but nothing like before. I just had blood work done yesterday and everything looked so much better. My blood pressure is back to normal and everything. I praise God for this. I love my sleeve. So thank you again for your post.
