Hey All! So, I'm getting surgery on May 7th. Yikes! I'm on liquids now and I know I will be on liquids after but I'l already tired of mucle milk and don't know anything else i can really have beyond muscle milk, powder protien mix with milk and crystal light. I'm clueless! The doctor is very, very vague & not very helpful. So, what liquids stuff did you love? and beyond liquids, what soft/puree food tips do you have when you got to that phase? Any tips on different protien drinks or powders beyond EAS & Muscle milk? Please help! Thanks!

There are tons of protein shakes available. Go online and look around... I suggest you start with sampler packs so you can try the options without buying a bunch of tubs that you won't like.

I personally like the Syntrax Nectars. It's pure whey protein isolate, which is the best form of protein powder available. Each scoop has 23g protein, 0g carbs, 90 calories.

Others rave about Premier protein shakes from Costco.

Hope this helps.

Unjury.com makes some really high quality proteins. My surgeon recommends only them (20 grams protein per scoop), Bariatric Advantage High Protein Meal Replacement (27 grams protein per scoop) from Bariatric Advantage, and Bariatric Fusion Meal Replacement (27 grams protein per scoop) from Bariatric Fusion and Bariatric Meal (10 grams protein per scoop) from Metagenics. We're not required to stick to these but definitely encouraged. He is quite protective of his patients and very concerned with our post-surgery nutrition and follow-up.

For me, chicken broth, chicken broth and more chicken broth. All the Unjury powders are good tasting and healthy. Diet ice pops, I'm addicted to those. Big calcium pills dissolve nicely in warm chicken broth too.
