I HAVE A DATE!!!!!!

 I never thought I'd get to say that, so I'm making the absolute most of it! I just got an email from my surgeon and they are locking me in for May 9th. Today I start the "shrink my liver" campaign, and get my labs drawn.

I am also going to do some pre-op shopping today and I am hoping for some help from you vets out there. I am in Europe so the brands you guys have access to at the store are harder to track down, but generic ideas would be great.

Here’s what I already have:

* 2 types of protein powder (soy & whey).

* I have a blender (for liquid stage) and a food processor (for mushy stage)

 Here’s what’s on my shopping list:

* Jello

* Soup packages (no noodles or veggies, just all the crushed powdery bits that you then add water to) and broths

* Gatorade (to mix with water + protein powder)

* Apple sauce

* Fruit Juices (no sugar added)

* Popsicles (no sugar added)

* Frozen fruits and veggies to cook & put in the food processor (for mushy stage)

Any suggestions you have on things I have left off the list would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks & wish me luck!!

Congratulations on getting your date!  I wish you much success.  Sounds like you got almost everything.  Do you drink tea or coffee?  If so, then maybe decaf of those.
Where in Europe are you?  Are you getting your surgery in Europe or the US?

Good luck!

Thanks,

Congrats on getting your date! It is another big step in this awesome journey. The only other thing I can recommend is a good decaf tea. I love strong tea and was having issues finding a replacement. But after a thorough search have found I can use 2 bags of Twinings Decaf Irish Breakfast tea and the flavor is good enough to satisfy the" hot cup of something strong in the morning feeling".

Best my dear!

My husband lived in Amsterdam for 15 years and I spent alot of time there while we were waiting for his immigration papers to come to the US.  The one thing I miss about there is the constant rain and the beautiful gardens and parks.
You will be able to find pretty much everything you need there like here.  The only other thing I remember is that many people eat yogurt, especially greek yogurt, post op.  A lot of cheese too, when you're far enough out...and Holland has the best cheese!!!

So true! Lots of great cheeses here. It's hard to find variety in cottage cheese (e.g. fat free is tough to find) and Jell-O seems to be a weird challenge to track down, but hey! Plenty of veggies at super affordable prices. No complaints =D
