I bought this mahi mahi at BJ's and it's sooo good but i worry about the sodium count on it.

Inland market - Sea salt and roasted garlic MAHI MAHI
serving size 5oz

Calories; 158
Fat: 7g
Choloestrol: 86mg
Sodium:  252mg
Protein: 22g
Carbs: 0g

i eat about 1 oz of this so it breaks down to:
Calories; 32
Fat: 1g
Choloestrol: 17mg
Sodium: 50mg
Protein: 4g
Carbs: 0g

what do you think, good or should i try to avoid?

I think it would be ok, as long as it fits into your plan. How many carbs is it?

0g of carbs. thanks mama2girls. i edited above post to add that.

my plan doesn't mention anything about sodium which is why i was wondering about it. this is so good i could eat it everyday but i don't want to start that if the sodium count will work against me.

I'm extremely salt-sensitive so I pay attention to sodium.  If you are sticking with 1oz, then it's no big deal -in my nonmedical opinion. 1-2 ounces seem reasonable.  At more than 9 months out, I don't eat 5 ounces of anything so I would probably be fine with eating 1-3 ounces of this.

If you have reason to worry about sodium (i.e. blood pressure), I really want you to get some guidelines from your nutritionist or doctor.

thanks theshrinkingmimi.
nope, no blood pressure or sodium issues at all.
i've read lots of posts on here where people have said that high sodium can stall or delay weight loss. definitely don't want to do that!!

I also have to be more aware of sodium, though less so since I've lost weight.  50g of sodium per ounce seems faily low, so if it were me, I'd go for it.

It looks fine. And, it would have easily fit in my guidelines. Recommended minimum for sodium intake is around 1500mg per day. Sodium is a vital part of your body's normal function. Don't cut it too low because there are other issues that come up with low sodium as well.

Luckily, sodium doesn't bother me. Good. I've spent the past few years watching it because of blood pressure, but now that that problem is gone, I can totally feed my salty food addiction.

It all depends on YOU and YOUR body and what works. You're going to have a LOT of experimenting!
