Like what was mentioned in this post and the one linked.... unfortunately it's something that alot of WLS patients battle. I guess the best thing you can do is follow your surgeons suggestions. When able, make sure you get all your protein in and take your supplements like you are supposed to. If anything, it will help you when your hair is growing back.
Just an idea of what I will be taking post-op: 5000mcg Biotin, Calcium, MVI that has 18mg Iron, B12, and was told by my surgeon to get 50mg Zinc every 3 days (for hair).

I got my MVI from Walgreens when they had by-one-get-one-free.... can't remember the brand (think it was Nature's Made or something like that), but I did buy a small bottle of Flinestone's to take when I'm too scared to swallow things at the beginning. Sure they have sugar and all that, but at the beginning it will be something.
My surgeon's paperwork said 500mg Calcium, 50mg Zinc (every 3rd day), and a MVI with at least 18mg Iron. I am going to be taking at least 1,000mg Calcium... I've read people have taken as much as 1,500mg and then lower (to 1,000mg) it during maintenance and/or when you're eating more food than liquids. I've also read on my salon's FB page, someone swore by Norweigan Cod Liver Oil making their hair look fabulous. Like I said, these supplements will most likely not stop you from losing hair, but help make it come back faster/healthier :)
