I am just starting full liquids today and I both excited and nervous.  The stupid gas is getting in the way!

I have been alternating gatorade and water and have been getting enough to keep my urine pale, so I am encouraged by that.  Today we shall see how full liquids is like.

Try gas-x strips, they are helping me alot. Oh, forgot to mention, I've been drinking peppermint herbal tea with splenda and that has helped with some of the gas too.

Mine was March 6th. Got home March 7th. I finally got  65 ozs yesterday, but I'm in all liquids. I only got about 3 ozs. of protein.  The rest has been powerade, jello, and a popsicle. I wrote all my liquids down because the 2nd day I hardly got any down. I sipped all day and walked all day. I am having the burning pain in that one incision where I think they took out the stomach.  That is no fun. Still taking pain meds for that, but less amount and for longer delay.  Otherwise I think I'm doing ok. I am sleeping alot better and I seemed to have more energy yesterday too. Anyone else having that pain?

today working on getting all my protein in.  water too.
started off by drinking a cup of decaf coffee with some lowfat milk and nectar cappacino pack.
23 grams of protein in one cup.  drank about 3/4 of it so far, almost done.  sip sip sip....

anyone else have any tricks to getting protein / liquids in?
food ideas?   i've tried hummus, tuna w/ alittle lowfat mayo (very very finely diced) - that's it.

I was sleeved on 3/5...I've had a harder time with nausea, but it's finally starting to wane. My larger incision - where the stomach came out - is more tender and sore...but the other sites are virtually pain free.

I have a very hard time getting all the water in right now...I think I get close. My urine is darker than I like it to be, but I'm still hydrated. I get more each day. Right now I get a pain if I drink even remotely more than a teeny sip at a time. Today seems to be going better.

I am trying a soft scrambled egg with cottage cheese to help it be more moist today. I pureed a chicken, cheese, broccoli dish yesterday...it was pretty tasty. Baby food is not so bad...after 2 weeks of protein drinks.

I was told to try to get 2-3 protein drinks in per day and they would count for my water. But that's been tough. Yesterday I could only handle about 3/4 of one.

I'm learning...ready for it to heal though!

happymom80 - omg i agree. it's taken me 3 hours to drink a cup of coffee!! if i accidentally take more than a tiny sip i feel pressure in my chest - not fun. it passes pretty quickly but wow. reminds me of that old blonde joke - it takes a blonde 90 minutes to watch 60 minutes(show). lol....

how much protein are you getting in? can you finish the whole scrambled egg w/cottage cheese?
