Qestions for surgeon

Have my finally meeting with doctor yatco before surgery.... can anyone give me some quesions i must ask him before surgery. i always want to know where can i get sample shakes and which ones taste good

I asked what size bougie would be used, if I would have a catheter or drain, how long I should be in the hospital, if I would be able to use NSAIDS later, if I would get Heparin shots to prevent clots, if I would have to inject myself with anti clotting medicines at home after surgery, how long surgery should be, how often I would see surgeon for post op visits, what were the signs of leaks and when should I call the office, would surgery be done robotically and , what were the advantages of surgery done robotically), and if I could be given anti nausea medicine with IV during surgery. I believe these are most if not all of the questions I asked on my final pre op visit with surgeon, I hope this helps, and CONGRATULATIONS on your approval!!

 So glad you kept fighting and didn't give up! This is a life changing and life saving surgery and probably the best thing you can do for yourself. Please keep us posted on your progress. A seat on the losers bench is waiting for you.

I'm having the RNY so some of these questions may not pertain to VSG:

How long is the hospital stay?
Vitamin recommendations and whether chewables or tablets matter early on?
Birth control options?
Do you have to schedule post op appointments or do they automatically do it?
