Super sweet surgery in India

Not to be argumentative, or ignorant or anything... But I was in India last year (Mumbai), and was in both rich an poor neighborhoods.  Unless the hospital/hotel purified all of their water that was used for drinking, cooking and bathing, there is no way I'd ever have surgery there.  My primary concern would be water contamination.

And, yep, the entire city smelled different than here, but I got used to it pretty quickly.

my only concern would be that if you need post op care for complications you won't be that close to your doctor... AND some doctors won't touch patients that had work done by another doctor and outside the states... at least when I was interviewing surgeons for a tummy tuck years ago, that's information I got.
I don't think I would go to India unless with a person I knew personally who was local to there.  It's very dirty and you never know what you'll get.  If you used an agency and found places where other Americans were there and recommend it, then good for you!
Yes, I'm sure there are fantastic places there.  There are in every country.  But my experience there- not impressed- wanted to run home crying actually!  But I didn't go for surgery or anything like that.

Nz doctors are pretty good, actually had spoken to someone already about leaving, so all that was taken care of.

I did a **** load of research before going on hospital and surgeon, so was very prepared and happy with my situation. Never once thought about cancelling.
