Anyone done detox program before surgery

Just started my pre-op diet today! YAY cant wait.
Bought a detox program to complete 7 day intensive one, removing toxins from our bodies can help healing. Was wondering if anyone else did this and if you thought it helped, the healing prcess of surgery?
Anyhow would thought I should do it and get my body to the best I can before my big day!!

Would be keen to hear from others about this, Some surgeons do ask I read on the net, could onle see plastics????

You really should check with your surgeon on this, it depends on what is used and how involved it may be. It may not be something your surgeon wants you to do. Usually they have you do a bowel prep with a specific product. It could postpone your surgery if it contains herbal products that could cause issues with your surgery. I really urge you to get it cleared with your doc before hand and make sure you tell him and the anesthesiologist about it if you do go ahead without his OK.

I wouldn't do one especially before surgery. Most of them have diuretics in them that will leave you dehydrated for surgery.  You can do something similar by just cutting out all processed foods, all carbs and all sugar.  I ate protein (mos tly chicken and fish and protein drink) and very little veg and lost 15 pounds in 3 weeks pre op which for me was miraculous.  Please be very cautious and throw it away. You don't need artificial help to clean your system out - just your own determination to eat a clean diet.

I agree with the above post, and additionally I wouldn't want any extra bowel movements because u pretty much will detox after surgery on the liquid phase and will be doing like crazy
