EATING EATING BURSTING!
Cant stop eating, I have my op on the 20th, and start my pre-op on the 6th Feb
I think I'm in mourning! LOL Mourning all the foods that were my best friends, my comfort, my company, my understanding. but no longer
I know its nerves but OOH NOO! I'm about to pop, and still thinking about the choclate I put in the fridge.
I feel confident that I'll manage food after surgery, but are totally out of control right now even for me, the queen of the sweet tooth.

It was ugly when I was where you were. I gained 5 pounds. I ate at out for 3 meals a day for two weeks.
I'm not saying it was the right thing to do or the most healthy, but I can't say that I regret it either. Yes, I can still eat at all those places, but I think it was part of my process.

It's funny as I'm a very determined, strong minded person, have always lost weight when I've put in the effort, just NEVER kept it off, I have no negative thoughts about controlling my urges after post op I know I will do great .pre-op will be more of a struggle on the diet.
Its the now that has me beat, I'm not worried,I know in 6 days thats it. I have to do it right.
I just feel sorry for that chocolate bar, Sad to say he wont live to see another day!
I think its my way of saying goodbye

I went crazy too. I gained 9 lbs in the month before my procedure and I said I wouldn't do it but I ate like crazy and it was the month between Thanksgiving and Christmas. It was ok, and I had a blast and now once month later I lost 27 lbs. All the holiday food and booze was pretty good...now on to my new life. Forgive yourself and look forward. Good luck!
Hi Georgie,
I empathize with the struggle, as I am working very hard at overcoming my dirty cheating ways myself. But here is some unsolicited advice- stop yourself. Throw out the trigger foods. Whatever weight you are putting on now is weight that you will still struggle to take off later. Really try to focus on beginning to mend eating patterns now- I promise you will be grateful you did post surgery. It is tantelizing to overindulge knowing the surgery is near. I get that. I had 1 food funeral myself. Learn from what you are going through right now and use it to make your eating habits stronger- not weaker.
For me pre-op, I had to set my first goal of simply not gaining anymore. Next goal was try to adjust to the shakes. From there begin to lose weight. This was much harder for me then what I deal with now on a daily basis, but I can already tell that in a few months I will be back riding that ship of significant overeating if I don't begin to mend habits now. The vets here post all the time about how if we do not bust our rears changing our eating habits the sleeve will either be minimally effective or perhaps not at all. I can totally see that train coming at me too, as I have tolerated everything unusually well.
You can do it :)
Save yourself withdrawel issues post op and begin now mending the eating habits- you can do it!!

My husband did that before his surgery too, and I'm fighting the urge to do it now...some days more successfully than others!
He doesn't regret his elongated "food funeral" (love that term!). From watching his progress for the last year, I know that eventually I will be able to have every one of those foods again, in the right portions. I'll just have to remind myself after surgery that the idea of not being able to eat certain foods is temporary, and that the sooner I get to goal, the sooner I can add those things back in, slowly.
Besides, you'll be amazed at how quickly your weight goes down on that preop diet.
