super hungry

Hi everyone, just looking for a little advice. I have been trodding along very nicely since surgery. Always sticking to plan, exercising regularly, trying to get in all my fluids. But the last 2 days all I have been thinking about is food! I am hungry! Some is true hunger and the rest is I just want to eat!

I am fighting it off, staying focused but I am scared I will break and weaken and give in to past cravings. I try sf popscicles, a sf candy, but so far that only has satisfied me for the immediate moment.

I did do a 2 day liquid protein only after the holidays because I prepared so many meals and food was so much on the brain, and it did help to reprogram my brain. Not really wanting to do that again if I don't have to.

Ant thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks family

I get some cravings too sometimes. I wanted some ranch doritos soooo bad. I waited for the craving to go away a little, then I ate 3 chips, and then I didnt want anymore. I dont know if this will work for you but you can try it. You have come a very long way in your journey and I understand you dont want to mess that up. What types of things are you craving? Maybe we can find something that will satisfy that craving but not so unhealthy!

I would evaluate how your vitamin regiment is going...your body is trying to tell you something... maybe you need to eat more calories or protein.  A lot of people stay at the lower end of the calorie spectrum, but sometimes, we need to give in to the higher end.  Sometimes eating more will actually help your program to lose...

I remember when I was about 3 - 4 months post op, and I gave myself a "free carb" day...low and behold, I ended up still losing everything I was trying to but my body was happier...

Sometimes coffee kills the "gotta eat" cravings.  Or drinking something.  Sometimes not.

If you're doing low fat, you may want to try adding some fat into a meal or two.  Fat will help you stay satisfied longer.

Ugh! I've had this for the last 3 or 4 days and while I'm doing the healthy thing I'm eating about 20% more and it's really bothering me. i eat then I'm hungry again in about an hour and never satisfied it seems. So ready for this to pass.  will be watching this thread for some suggestions. Hate this feels like a loss of control.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I will try each and everyone of them! I am not so sure about the chips though lol. I had a passion for cheddar jalapeno cheetos prior to vsg, I have to see the bottom of the bag so I think they should just stay on the store shelf! LOL Too much sodium anyway. I am not a coffee drinker but will to give it a try and yesterday I did actually eat a lot more protein, but it bothered me that I was eating more.

Maybe I should just relax and listen to my body. My cravings were going strong about an hour after breakfast today, I waited had my usual yogurt and so far all is good! I guess it's an up and down process and I need to work through it.

Thank you all for your advice, it's so nice to have help here and encouragement. We are so lucky!
