Mine was really bad until my 6 week post op visit.  At that visit I got my first B-12 injection and it only lasted about another week or 2 after that.

I had a turnaround at week 3 and never looked back.  the first 2 weeks were brutal and the 2nd to 3rd week i napped every day.  give yourself time, you had major surgery but you'll turn the corner soon. if you feel you need to rest, do.  this too shall pass.

I remember telling my Dr. at the 3 month visit that I was fatigued. He said more protein but it took me about another month after that to start feeling better. I had to start adding a few more calories. My weight loss has slowed  but I am still losing and I feel much better. Make sure you get in all of your vitamins ( multi, calcium B-12...) also. That helped too.

Good luck!

I am 7 weeks out and still more tired than normal. I was fortunate to have taken 5 1/2 weeks off work and I did pretty o.k. the last part of the time at home. But returning to work just zapped me. I too am sleeping very well, which is new for me, but sure don't like feeling so tired.

Thanks for the input everyone..hopefully we will find some energy soon! I did some laundry and other household cleaning today. I was going to try to go the grocery store, but this is off the list for today.

I am interested to hear eveyone's take on this. I'm a week out and today I had my first post-op visit followed by a trip to the grocery store and picking my son up from school. I collapsed in a heap when I got home! The NP at my dr's office said the anesthesia plays a big role in fatigue. She said brisk walking will help metabolize it faster but man, I can barely get out of bed in the morning! I really dread going back to work next week.

I am dragging too. I have had surgeries before but NEVER felt like this. I feel like a bug that flew into a bug zapper. I think I am going to increase my protein and walking and see if that helps.
