Going on 4 years.. Before and After
Unbelievable that I haven't posted in so long. I used to live on this site, even when I wasn't posting. I'm still so happy with my sleeve every day. On occasion I'm reminded that my tool is in effect because of overeating, or eating too fast, or eating something too starchy. It's still there, and it's still working. Since my last post I had gained about 12 pounds and have easily lost about 10 of them. I want to lose about another 4 pounds for my upcoming 4th anniversary in April, but am no longer so attached to a number on the scale. It's a VERY gradual process, but as I am wearing a size 4 and feeling pretty fabulous, I want to try to be realistic. I have too much skin to look good squeezed into a size 1. Also, I keep a picture of myself at my thinnest and it's not really that flattering...
I still have to take my Prilosec OTC regularly, but my heartburn keeps improving very gradually. I still get the foamies and slimies when I over eat or eat too fast. My scars are almost invisible. My skin isn't too bad considering my age and weightloss. Someday I'll get my tummy tuck and boob lift, but will enjoy every day regardless.
If you are someone new to the site and are reading this please know that I recommend the gastric sleeve and Dr. Alvarez to my daughter and to my mother. The weight has come off physically, mentally, and spiritually. Quit dreading change and embrace your new life. You will not be disappointed!
Hugs,
Dorothy

It took SO LONG to accept my new self but now it's hard to remember this girl who didn't take very good care of herself. She deserved better and thanks to a series of fortunate events she darned well got it! =)

You are beautiful! Thanks so much for the update. Did your mother and daughter go through with surgery? If so, how are they coming along?
Thank you so much, you are so sweet! =)
My mother and daughter haven't been able to afford the surgery, but my daughter is getting close. She was determined to lose the weight naturally but that has not happened. I'm so eager for her to get on the way to being healthier and and having a better self image!
=)

Thanks for the response. I will be praying that things work out for them. I have not had surgery yet, but I am very hopeful this will change my life. I am going to do all I can to ensure that it does.
