Carbs - Vitamins - CONTROL!!! NET CARBS?

My vitamins are 20g of my daily carb intake. I am taking Vitafusion Gummies.
4 multivit a day
3 fiber
2 calcium

Per the doc I am supposed to be taking 6 of the calcium but that would give me another 12 carbs for the day. WTH - Suggestions?

Is it right to use net carb calculations? (carbs - fiber grams = net carbs)

Just am not losing like I expected. I think about 2 lbs in the last 8 days. I am trying to be good!!!

First, ditch the gummy vitamins. Sleeves don't desolve them so well anyway and at over 30 days you should be perfectly able to take capsules. Get some bariatric vitamins in capsules (available from Bariatric Advantage or Celebrate). No calories/no carbs.

Order some Now Calcium Citrate powder (make sure you get the calcium citrate not the calcium carbinate). Mix it in coffee or protein shakes. No calories/no carbs.

Down the road use calcium citrate pills but they're a little big for one month out. Again, no calories, no carbs and cheaper than the powder.

And presto!

The only thing I still take that has calories/carbs is my D3 and my iron because the chewables are the only ones that don't give me a weird aftertaste. But the two only total 10 calories and 4 carbs.

I think it's up to you how you calculate carbs, but I think a carb is a carb. Also, you don't HAVE to do super low carb, but a lot of people swear by it. How was your loss before those 8 days? I just recently added some food and carbs to my life and I actually lost weight. My vitamins are between 12 and 14 carbs per day. A few of them are liquid. I would like to lower that but I tried a lot of the sugar free chewables and I was gagging. You have to do what works for you and adjust other places accordingly I guess.

Btw, how far out are you? At some point I think 2-3 pounds a week is normal...

6 weeks out...(12/5) Prior to the last 8 days I had a couple lb loss the week prior then prior to that was a week stall...On avg prior to the last 8 days I was losing about 5lbs a week. Nothing has really changed other than I have now been cleared as of 1/4 for full foods so now I am trying to get my protein in via eggs and meats..

I take 8x2 Vitafusion gummies a day, my numbers are textbook perfect and I have lost 136 pounds in 13 months. It is possible to lose, digest the gummies, and be in perfect vitamin health and still take Vitafusion. I wouldn't give them up for anything.

Do you subscribe to the less than 40g carbs per day rule or are you more versitile?

I have 80 lbs to lose and really want to lose it in the next 6-8 months. (lose it before my birthday)

For my actual food, yes. I eat very low carb. I never counted carbs, per se. I eat nothing white. Period. Except for skim milk in my coffee, there is no white. No bread, no pasta, no rice. My attitude has always been that the gummies didn't count towards my daily numbers.

That said, I do exercise every day and when I was losing, I walked every day. I am now just interested in maintenance. I think 70% of my success is due to the exercise.

Wow, you take gummies for everything? I find most multivitamins are horse pills so I substitute gummies but I take petite Calcium citrate and use benefiber.

From the way my NUT explained it, you subtract your grams of fiber from your total carbs and this yields your net carbs. That is the figure used in my 40-50 grams of carbs a day that I am allowed. I think that is what the NUT was trying to tell you.

Best of luck to you!
